Summer Youth Programme at Sandy Hill Arts
This event is running from 11 April 2026 until 20 September 2026. It is next occurring on Sat 11 April 2026.
Calling all Lovers of Music and Dance !
This summer at Sandy Hill Arts we’re opening our wonderful marquee to a whole panoply of youth music events and workshops. Sandy Hill Arts is delighted to be able to offer these opportunities to young people on the back of our second successful Grassroots Music Grant, awarded by the Arts Council England.
For those that don’t already know, Sandy Hill Arts is a relatively young arts charity situated on a beautiful, unique semi-industrial, semi-rural, old milk bottling plant, alongside a stream and the steam railway, at Corfe Castle. It’s worth a visit in itself, just for the surroundings and to visit the studios and exhibitions. The local community now have a thriving arts centre, bringing in brilliant and top quality musicians from around the UK, providing workshops and many other events. See www.sandyhillarts.co.uk.
This summer we are proud to present a wonderful schedule of youth music and dance, as follows:
Sat 11 April – Me and My Friends
Afrobeat. Folk. Jazz. Cello. Clarinet. Harmonies to melt your soul. Grooves to bounce your booty on. Me and My Friends effortlessly weave these ingredients into a sonic concoction that is theirs alone, underpinned by the hauntingly elegant songs and sparkling highlife guitar of bandleader Nick Rasle.
