The Nuvo Toot is designed for children who are ready to move on from the recorder. It helps them develop the skills they need before learning the flute.

Each instrument includes two lip plates:

• a ‘Firstnote’ lip plate – this is similar to the mouthpiece on a recorder. Using this lip plate allows children to concentrate on learning how to correctly hold the instrument and learn the finger positions, while still using the familiar blowing technique they learned from the recorder.

• a standard flute lip plate – once children are confident playing the instrument using the ‘Firstnote’ lip plate, they can switch to the standard lip plate to learn how to produce a sound as they would on a traditional flute.

Other features of the Nuvo Toot:

• it has silicone keys designed for smaller hands
• it plays in the key of C and is fully chromatic
• it can play over one and a half octaves
