Throughout July and August, as part of the Summer Reading Challenge, DMS will be bringing live musical activity into libraries across Dorset, helping to celebrate the theme by inspiring a love of music alongside reading. Families will have the opportunity to experience live music demonstrations, meet musicians, and ask questions about instruments and what it’s like to learn and play them.
Alongside these performances, participants can also take part in interactive Music Technology workshops through YuStudio, offering hands-on experiences in creating music using digital tools.
This initiative provides a fantastic opportunity for young people to explore what it means to make music, sparking curiosity and encouraging them to begin their own musical journeys within their local communities. It also supports DMS’s mission to make high-quality musical opportunities accessible to all, helping to break down barriers such as rural isolation and financial constraints.
